Uruguay and the Netherlands will meet on Tuesday in the World Cup betting on the semifinals with Holland favored to advance to the final. Holland upset Brazil in the quarterfinals and now must avoid overconfidence as they take on Uruguay on Tuesday. Head coach Bert van Marwijk is warning his team not to ignore Uruguay, despite the fact that Holland has yet to lose a game in the World Cup online betting. The largest issue for Holland may be a letdown. They’ve got to avoid overlooking a Uruguay squad without two of their best competitors after arriving from a quite emotional win over Brazil.

World Cup betting probabilities list the Netherlands at -160, Uruguay at +490 and the Draw at +255. The total on the game is 2 with the over at -130.

Van Marwijk is reminding his squad of what occurred 2 years ago when Holland was liked to become European champions and then lost in the quarterfinals. He doesn’t want Uruguay to be overlooked by his team. On paper, it seems like Holland should win this game without too much difficulty. Holland won all 8 of their qualifying games and now they’ve won all 5 of their World Cup wagering matches.

Uruguay lasted on a missed penalty kick after Luis Suarez was red-carded for a handball in the course of their game with Ghana, which they were pretty lucky to get past. The handball was worth the cost nonetheless as Ghana missed their penalty kick at the conclusion of overtime sending the game to penalty kicks where Uruguay won 4-2. Uruguay will be lacking Suarez in this semifinal game vs Holland as he was suspended. Uruguay will also be lacking defender Jorge Ciro Fucile who’s suspended and they may be devoid of injured captain Diego Lugano and midfielder Nicolas Lodeiro. Defender Gregory van der Wiel and midfielder Nigel de Jong, who are suspended, won’t be playing for Holland.

Suarez was really the hero for Uruguay as without his handball the squad would have lost to Ghana. The squads were tied 1-1 after regulation time so they went to extra time. In the last moment, Suarez kept a shot out of the Uruguay goal with his hands and then Ghana striker Asamoah Gyan hit the crossbar with his penalty shot. Uruguay went on to win the competition 4-2 on penalty kicks.

Uruguay is going to need Diego Forlan to score in order for them to win this competition. With Suarez out of the lineup, he’s the 1 true scoring risk. Holland has considerably more scoring depth led by Arjen Robben and Wesley Sneijder.

The last 7 World Cup finals odds have involved only five teams but that will change this year with the champ of this game between Uruguay and the Netherlands in the final. Argentina, Brazil, Germany, France and Italy are the only five teams since 1982 to have played in the World Cup finals. If the Netherlands wins this semifinal vs Uruguay and Spain defeats Germany on Wednesday, there will be a first-time World Cup winner. Holland competed in the 1974 and 1978 finals but lost each time. Uruguay has collected the World Cup twice.
