Players that are consistent and reliable week in, week out have a certain level of mental toughness. Your main objective in soccer is to play to your best ability, but to also perform consistently.

If you’re reading this and you coach the game, this article also concerns you. As a coach, you are given the duty to develop and improve their game. You must also be aware of these mental factors and encourage their natural progression.

Soccer drills and training should always be a distant second to mental training. The simplest praise or encouragement gives a young player confidence and belief. A young player oozing confidence is a motivated player and one that’s hungry for the game.

All parents want their children to learn all the social skills required to belong in today’s society. They want their children to learn discipline, respect, sharing and the art of making new friends. Every parent also wants his or her children to grow up healthy and fit. So what’s the answer? The simplest solution to your problem is to become a soccer parent.

Soccer allows young children to develop social skills, have fun and stay fit all at the same time. What’s that? You don’t know anything about soccer!  Nevermind, listen up  .

Soccer is a game of two forty-five minute halves. Each team consists of eleven players that try and penetrate the opposing goals. Each team has a goalkeeper that protects the goals.  The goalkeeper has the authority to handle the ball with his hands  . The other ten players are designated positions depending on the coach’s  tactics .

A soccer team consists of a goalkeeper, defenders, midfielders and strikers. The defenders station themselves in front of their goal and as the name suggests, protect and defend their goal and goalkeeper. The midfielders are the link between the defenders and the strikers. They operate in the middle of the park and conduct the pace and tempo of the game. They offer support to the defenders while supplying the service to the strikers.

The forwards also known as the strikers are given the job of scoring goals. These players make up the offensive side of the field. The striker’s predominately take the most shots and score the most goals. Most soccer parents want their child to be a striker because this position gets the most attention and recognition.

A referee controls the game with the assistance of two linesmen. Each team can have up to three substitutions during the course of the match.

The basic requirements of soccer are a pair of shorts, a top and a pair of legs that bend at the knees. The cost with playing soccer is minimal and there is no expensive equipment that needs to be purchased.

The question shouldn’t be whether you can afford to play soccer, but rather can you afford not to play.

If your kids are taking part in soccer training, it is important that you provide them with the proper equipment, both for protection and for comfort while playing. In discussing soccer gear for kids, I want to talk about in this article protective gear.

There is not a lot of safety equipment required, but there is one essential they must wear for soccer, whether training or playing matches – and that is, or those are, shin pads, or guards. So how do you choose the right shin guards for yor child?

When shopping , there are many different styles and makes of leg guards. They may come with ankle sleeves, or without ankle sleeves. It is equally important to understand that there are many different materials that make up the composition of shin guards.

The first thing to be sure of is a good fit. It is a bad idea to buy shin guards that are too tight as this may result in movements during soccer training to be restrictive, and may cause a loss of proper circulation throughout the legs, not good. If a shin guard is too loose on the other hand, the player will suffer as well as they may slip before an impact with another player, thus providing very small protection. So purchase shin guards that are secure around the leg of the player, but with enough room to fit a fingertip in comfortably. Additionally, the shin guard should not reach the knee as this can result in injury during soccer training.

Make sure that the guard is appropriate for the age of the player player’s age, sets that are specifically for children should be chosen. If the player is an adult, then adult shin guards should be bought. When trying on the shin guards that you are interested in buying , it is recommended to try them on while wearing your soccer cleats and standard socks. This will help to determine if the guard is compatible and fits appropriately with your other equipment. Most online stores will let you return goods if the size is not ideal.

Select a pair that has enough cushioning too, as this helps make the guards more comfortable and also helps to protect the shins more effectively. Many come with ankle protectors. Purchasing this particular style can prove to help prevent injuries along the ankle and bottom part of the leg and ensure comfort of play. The right soccer gear for kids will help them perform better.
