Soccer coaches today are a dime a dozen. Just because someone calls themselves a soccer coach doesn’t necessarily mean they are one. So how do you know if your child’s coach is a good one?

Before you commit to a team or a coach make sure you pay close attention to the players already in the team. Are they happy? Are they enjoying their soccer and having fun? Are they learning the fundamentals of the game?

If you cannot answer yes to the following questions then you must question the suitability of the coach and the team environment. Why would you expose your child to this environment? Remember coaches are a dime a dozen, make sure you select the right coach from the beginning.

Does the coach look professional and does he maintain a clean appearance? If the coach doesn’t look the part, chances are he doesn’t share the passion and love for the game. To look the part is easy; a new tracksuit with clean boots is all it takes. If the coach doesn’t care about his appearance and stature, there’s a good chance that he couldn’t care less about his players or your children. It’s harsh but it’s the truth.

Does the coach smile and make his players smile? Is the environment a friendly one? I’ve never met anyone that puts in a greater effort under a spirit of criticism than under a spirit of approval. I’ve never known anyone to complain about receiving too much positive feedback. Have you? If the coach can’t manage a smile then he should not participate in the game of soccer, full stop!

So before you rush out and register your children to soccer take the time to assess the coach and the spirit of the team. Just because a club or coach is close to your home doesn’t make it the right choice for your children. Take your time in choosing because there’s a lot at stake, don’t you think?

Euro 2012 Predictions

UEFA Euro 2010 is set to be a very exciting competition, with nine qualifying groups (a total of 51 teams) all competing for 16 places in the final. The host countries Poland and Ukraine and guaranteed automatic qualification so this leaves only 14 spots to play for!

The spots are awarded automatically to the winning team of each of the nine groups and the highest ranked second place team (taking goal difference into account if equal points are achieved by more than one team). The remaining eight second placed teams compete in a two legged playoff for the four remaining spots in the final.

Current European Champions and winner of the World Cup 2010, Spain, are favourites to walk away from Euro 2012 victorious. Although following their success in South Africa 2010, finishing in 3rd place, and having reached the finals of Euro 2008 Germany come a close second to the favourites to win the final of UEFA Euro 2012.

Also in the running for a spot in the final playoff are the Netherlands, as runners up in this year World Cup final they will feel they are in with a good chance of reaching the final again in 2012.

As for the top scorer in this competition the clear choice would be David Villa for Spain, he is on top form at present and as long as he keeps it up throughout the competition there are very few who can compete! If you’re a fan of outsider bets the next best options I can offer you are Ozil and Muller, based purely on their performances for Germany during the World Cup these two could offer some exciting goals – lets just hope the quantity matches the quality!

No team has been as outstanding throughout the 2010 World Cup odds online betting contest as Argentina and no team has been more exciting to watch. Ironically, the Argentine side arrived at the South African World Cup online sports betting contest with all sorts of question marks dangling over its head and, in fact, hardly even qualified for the World Cup probabilities competition in the 1st place.

But credit and apologies to the craziest SOB to ever coach a World Cup squad, Maradona, because his squad is playing light out right now.

After torching its Group B contest for 3 wins in three matches and scoring 7 goals along the way this squad is the closest thing to soccer betting juggernaut as you’ll find in the World Cup wagering action right now.

Feel bad for the Mexicans.

Mexico has a pretty excellent looking squad in its own right and against almost any other squad on this side of the World Cup probabilities draw they would have had a good chance and could even make a good underdog pick. The all-around play of this squad is extraordinary and it’s challenging to pinpoint just one weakness. In one of the toughest groups in the World Cup wagering event, Group A, this team lost a challenging 1-0 decision to Uruguay in the final game but was otherwise impressive.

This squad ought to have been at its greatest when it took on Argentina but sadly it wasn’t enough to get by this South American titan and into the World Cup betting quarterfinals. Mexico’s biggest shot would have been to slow the competition down, take away the passing lanes and stuff as many defenders as possible in front of the box and stop any balls from going through to the Argentine striking corps of Messi, Tevez, Higuain and Milito.

The final score of 3-1 was fairly questionable but essentially came down to a better Argentine team having their way with a struggling Mexican offense. It would have been suicide for Mexico to even attempt an offensive competition plan since Argentina is so fast and so excellent in the open lineup and counter attack.

The competition began with Mexico’s Carlos Salcido making a goal in the 8th minute. Things looked excellent for the Mexican squad until Tevez got his first goal and the tide of the game changed. From that point on, Mexico simply couldn’t get the ball away from Argentina long enough to score.

Carlos Tevez obtained a goal two times — one time on a disputed goal — and Gonzalo Higuain added one more as the Albiceleste beat Mexico 3-1 on Sunday to go into the quarterfinals.

Obtained by Tevez by heading in a pass from Lionel Messi in the 26th minute, the second goal was a problem. When Tevez butted it in, he was plainly offside. But the referee awarded the goal after consulting with his linesman while surrounded by irritated Mexican and Argentine competitors.

The Albiceleste has earned this match and is now one match nearer to the World Cup betting finals. They have moved on to the quarterfinals where they will compete with Germany.

The online football shirt market is definitely on the upswing right now. With the 2010 FIFA World Cup just few short months away, fans can find shirts for all of their favourite countries at several sites online. The shirts range in price and availability, so it’s a good idea to shop around until you find just the right position to purchase from. The beauty of online shopping is that you can have your shirt delivered directly to your door in a matter of days, and have it well broken in before the games begin.

Online football shirt gross sales have been steadily rising for a few years. Part of the reason they are enjoying such a large number of new sales is that football fans are really just beginning to realize that the online shops exist. It takes a while for internet consumers to feel they can entrust a company, but once that reputation is established there is a good chance that your sales will grow tremendously – and continue to remain steady over the long run. The ease of online sales is difficult to resist when all it takes is a computer and a credit card.

The Barcelona home football shirt sells very well even when the team are not doing very well, Barcelona are one of the few teams who patronize a charity on the front of their football shirts, both home and away shirt carry the logo of Unicef.

Another reason online football shirt sales have been on the upswing is that football itself is enjoying an increase in popularity. Satellite and cable television have brought the sport to a whole new audience, and the fan base is increasing by leaps and bounds. Countries that used to ignore the sport are now embracing it passionately, and the sales of football related merchandise indicate that it is truly a worldwide phenomenon. Football is even gaining more traction in the United States, where it has always enjoyed a more lukewarm response.
