Anyone who has played soccer knows that good equipment matters heavily to performance. And probably nothing is there not much important to a soccer player than shoes. Cleats help traction in different weather and terrain. On a rainy day they could play a significant role in how a team performs and the difference between good cleats and bad cleats may affect the outcome of a game and possibly the soccer tournament.

It’s impressive then the new changes recently made to the cleats and their performance on the field. Cleats, like the Nike Sense, just feel like they MAKE sense. They are made of lightweight material so not to take down any speed you have but also have an adaptive traction system that adjusts the stud’s height depending on the conditions of the field. As most soccer players know, traction may alter during the course of a game and a shoe makes adjustments could provide a distinctive advantage within the course of a game.

Supposedly the technology reacts to the pressure put forth by the player’s foot and adjusts cleat stud to compensate up to 3mm. Soccer players such as Cristiano Ronaldo and Zlatan Ibrohimovich are currently wearing the shoe in matches (though they are under contract with Nike) and have actively spoke out for the shoe, saying that it has helped him during the game.

While still many critics are pointing out that it’s clearly the skill of the player and not the equipment affecting the soccer skill at the end of the day, the soccer equipment that they are using should clearly make a difference.

With new innovations in equipment, soccer matches prove to show the best players in the world playing even better. Fans of the sport will enjoy seeing their superstars play at a higher capacity and new innovations in soccer equipment should only highlight their abilities and make a better match.

As always, the Barclays premier league is proving to be as exciting as ever, with all ups and downs this season.Tickets are sold out as soon as they are put on the market for big matches like Manchester united, Arsenal and Liverpool. The Premier League generally attracts huge sponsorships,  raises the international reputation of English football, and is a very successful tournament.

The Premier League was formed in 1992 when the top clubs in the Football League decided to break away from the 1st division to form their own league. In the 80’s, English football was going through some tough times owing to lack of investment in facilities, and aggression. To add fuel to the fire, riots by English fans resulted in 39 deaths in a tragic event at Heysel stadium, resulting in English teams being banned from European competitions.English clubs also had to radically restructure their grounds, making them all-seater venues, following the Hillsborough tragedy.

The top ten clubs, suffering from the costs of these changes, formed the Premier Leagure and sold the TV rights to Sky.The new league was very popular, despite fans having to pay to watch their teams on TV, and the move created enormous wealth.Big name sponsors such as Carling, Barclaycard and now Barclays Bank have been attracted to the competition.

Having broken away to make more money as valuable commodities, the Premier League clubs are now criticised for spending so much on their players.Being able to compete on a global scale, paying high wages and transferring players for enormous sums is an expensive business.Finance is a factor where several clubs have struggles and in February 2010, Portsmouth went into administration.Along with Hull City and Burnley, they were demoted.

Since its formation in 1992, the most successful club in the Premier League has been Manchester United under the management of Sir Alex Ferguson. They have won it 11 times and have never finished the season in less than third place.Last season saw a dramatic finale where Chelsea beat them.

Chelsea is now under the spotlight defending the championship against all old competitors. There is bound to be a great demand for tickets of Chelsea vs Manchester United. The tournament is at an early stage and much could happen as everything is at stake. The entertainment value of the Premier League provides excitement, heated discussions and high emotions for months on end.The antics of the players and managers, both on and off the pitch, keep everyone entertained.

But nothing can beat the thrill of being at a world class Premier League match, watching the best teams, like Chelsea, Arsenal, Man Utd and Liverpool, demonstrating the art of the beautiful game.Make sure you don’t miss out on tickets to big matches such as Manchester United vs Chelsea or Liverpool vs Arsenal.

The 2010/11 English Premier League football season officially kicked off on Sunday with Manchester United grabbing the first available piece of silverware on offer by beating Chelsea 3-1 at Wembley for the FA Charity Shield. A disappointing result for fans used to Chelsea football gifts of two trophies last season.

The football match started with a fast pace as both sides went out to win. We saw early chances come and go with no goals resulting. Paul Scholes may be getting old but he enjoyed a man of the match performance as he controlled the midfield and continually picked out passes with accuracy and preciseness. Manchester United gifts used the full width of the pitch through Antonio Valencia in attack while Chelsea’s Michael Essien and Florent Malouda were largely responsible for(p) for their positive forward moves.

Goals from Ecuadorian Antonio Valencia (41), Mexican Javier Hernandez (76) and Bulgarian Dimitar Berbatov (90) secured the Community Shield for Sir Alex Ferguson’s Manchester side, in front of 84,623 fans, with Chelsea getting a consolation goal scored by Ivory Coast forward Salomon Kalou. The Chelsea football score was disappointing.

A lot of substitutions were used throughout the match and Manchester fans got to see Javier ‘Chicharito’ Hernandez make his competitive debut and score a quite incredible goal that actually went off his face and in. It is a goal worth watching in slow motion, you don’t often see a goal “faced” in.

It was noticeable that from the beginning of the match large sections of fans from both sides were booing the England players when they touched the ball. The idea of Chelsea and Manchester United fans specifically targeting only England players with booing again brings the club v country debate to the forefront of football.  First it was Ashley Cole, then John Terry, Wayne Rooney and even Fabio Capello as the crowd let the underachieving players who failed to show their England  gifts know exactly how they felt concerning England’s poor World Cup display over the summer. The lackluster effort from the fans in their displays of disapproval were ultimately washed out by a sort of ‘call and response’ cheering from the opposition fans. When United would boo, Chelsea would cheer. The gesture, although passionate and honest, was a waste of time and had little lasting effect on the game itself as it progressed. All England football fans were pretty miffed by the players poor performance at the world cup, but I am not sure that the way to express this is by booing them at a club match, particularly as there is an international friendly against Hungary coming up to boo them at.
