Simple Tips to Advance Your Fitness Level

There are many methods in which individuals can heighten their level of fitness. Some may choose to engage in cardio exercises such as power walking or jogging while others may prefer aerobics or spin classes. Weight training exercises are another favorite of those individuals that wish to reach their peak physical fitness potential. While cardiovascular and weight training routines are for certain essential to one’s fitness, there are two important elements of fitness that many individuals overlook. Balance training and Core toneing are both crucial components of a successful fitness routine. These often ignored fitness aspects should be included in an individual’s exercise routine. Below are some tips to help individuals improve their fitness by including balance training and core strengthening exercises.

Balance Training Activities

Every activity in which an individual participates requires a degree of balance. An individual’s degree of balance will directly effect their performance of the fitness activity. The higher degree of balance, the more effective the exercise. Balance training is critical to facilitating proprioception development. Proprioception is the body’s inherent ability to sense its relation to the things around it. While proprioception is a sensory organization that is built-in to the body, this sensory system can be improved through good balance training exercises.

When an individual improves their proprioception, they will be better able to sense an imbalance. moreover, they will also be able to recover from an imbalance more quickly. By improving proprioception, individuals may avoid falls and other types of accidents during physical activities that could cause serious injury. Injury prevention is one of the key’s to reaching and maintaining one’s fitness goals.

Core Strength

Another fundamental aspect of improving one’s fitness level is core strength exercises. Muscle strength is imperative as muscles keep a person steady and control body movements. Just as with improved proprioception, strong, steady muscles can translate to injury prevention as well as improved fitness.

Strengthening the Core

Core Strengthening

Another primary aspect of improving one’s fitness is core strength exercises. Muscle strength is imperative as muscles keep a person steady and control body movements. The stronger an individual’s muscles, the steadier they will be during fitness activities. Just as with improved proprioception, strong, steady muscles can translate to injury prevention as well as improved fitness.

Strengthening the Core Muscles

Improving Balance and Strengthening Core

Individuals of all ages that have a daily or weekly fitness program will benefit from both improved balance and a stronger core. Balance training routines do not require any type of complicated equipment, but things such as dumbbells and swing boards can be utilized to accelerate the benefits. Core strengthening also does not require the use of complicated equipment, but an individual can use his or her own body to develop a stronger core. Two important elements of core strengthening are proper breathing and maintaining a neutral spine. If one intends to rapidly improve both balance and core strength then there are exciting new products on the market such as the Syco XT which will take you fitness rapidly to the next level. By incorporating both balance training and core strength training into one’s exercise routine, they can improve their fitness.

When enjoying a Mauritius self catering Holiday the universal opinion is that the top and trendy places to go of an evening are situated in Grand Bay to the Northwest of this stunning and ravishing island.

The Grand Bay night club life and bar scene has developed a great deal in recent years and improved beyond all recognition. It used to be a very small village used primarily by the locals and consisting of some poor quality snack eateries and local bars, but now there is a wide variety of decent night clubs and first-rate bars in what has become a full of life vacation playground resort.

Locals and tourists fill the clubs and bars mixing together in jovial harmony more often than not during weekends to have fun until very late at night or even the early hours of the morning.

There are even one or two places situated right by the beach, so you can really enjoy a smooth cool drink, a cocktail or beer on the beachfront gazing up at the star filled sky. The whole town centre is undoubtedly one of the finest places in Mauritius for bar hopping and watching the numerous bands playing live as most weekends there are bands performing live so those of you who prefer to sit back and soak up the beach atmosphere or enjoy a live performance, you will not be dissapointed by the place.

Soccer has become a mass phenomenon. It’s not surprising to see kids as young as five years old participating in the game. When young kids play soccer its always about fun and meeting new friends. So what changes, as they grow older?

To be honest, the kids don’t change at all. They may be a little older but they still play soccer because it’s fun. Then you might ask why do so many youth players quit the game before they become teenagers?

With every new season come new pressures and difficulties. Pressure stems from parents, the coaches and to some extent teammates. Children are showered with abuse in the form of howling and screaming. Whether you’re the coach or the parent, no child should be subjected to this kind of torment.

Parents and coaches need to understand that yelling instructions does not improve their performance but only aids in depleting their confidence and love for the game. A player can never improve or develop away from the game. The player needs to attend all soccer training sessions and needs to enjoy the game. Simply yelling at players is a great way to add to the ever-growing statistic of kids quitting soccer.

Yelling and shouting should be replaced with praise. Instead of yelling instructions and trying to coach every move, try cheering and encouragement. Children that receive praise and encouragement are more likely to repeat the desired actions again and again. I’ve never met anyone that puts in a greater effort under a cloud of criticism than under a cloud of praise. Have you? Then why do most coaches and parents expect a different a result.

Another great way to reduce certain pressures in youth soccer is to create a supportive team. Coaches and parents should develop a team with Great Spirit. A team that is full of players that encourage and support each other whether they win or they lose.

The coach should aim to build a team, not individual players. A team that works together and supports each other will always beat teams with a few stars that try and steal the spotlight.

Although Soccer is seen as a fun and easy sport to learn, the foundations of soccer can vary  enormously  . Soccer also known as football is a  game played in 2, 45 minute halves  . Each team defends its goals while trying to penetrate the opposing goal. The  demands  of the game are simple, two goals, a ball and legs that bend at the knees. What better way to have fun .

For those that want to pursue a career in soccer will definitely need to master other aspects of the game. Although the rules of the game never change, the obstacles and complexity of the game act like a big filter which will inevitably eliminate most players before they reach their full potential.

So what are the foundations of Soccer?

Motivation - No one can train for you, can they? No one else can improve your game. Motivation is an important aspect of soccer and one that gets mentioned the least.

Training - In order to improve, you need to practice and train. You need to improve your levels of physical fitness and improve your physical strength.

Nutrition - You need to eat a healthy and well balanced diet that will allow your body to train at high intensities. You also need the right nutrients to aid in your recovery.

Soccer DrillsThe best way to improve your passing, shooting and dribbling is through repetition. Drills are ideal for practicing a technique through repetition and allow you to master certain aspects of the game. Remember to practice, practice, and practice.

Weight Training – (soccer strength training) In order to compete at your maximum for 90 minutes, you will need to condition your muscles for 90 minutes of sprinting, jogging, walking, changing directions and even running backwards. Lifting weights will definitely give you an advantage in the last 10 minutes of a game when your opponents start to tire.

Psychology - ”Team Spirit” is probably the most underrated aspect of the game. Your coach and team should always make you feel like a winner, not a loser, irrespective of the score line.

Your thoughts and what you talk about around your team mates affects your performance and plays a significant role in the levels of confidence you have. Remember to always feed yourself positive thoughts to maintain confidence and increase your levels of enjoyment.

Enjoyment & Fun - If you enjoy soccer and are having fun, chances are you’ll remain in the game. Playing Soccer for long periods of time is the only way to improve and take your game to the next level. This will inevitably give you every chance to play the game professionally

With the new football season kick off it is a good time to think about our hopes for the new season which is shaping up to be a cracking one. This is my top five wishes :

For the England team, I hope Capello Fabio will give the youngsters their opportunity and build a new team even if this hurts our chances of qualifying for Euro 2012 and upsets Beckham. If he stays in the team,  Frank Lampard will save his football gifts for England, if not then he needs to be one of the first old players to be kicked out to make way for the kids.

Liverpool score an example to the rest of the league by rejecting the Chinese takeover approach and show that the game is about more than just money. A foreign country owning a football club is a bad example to set  and we could end up having our own domestic World Cup.

It would be magnificent for Blackpool to beat all the odds end up in a Champions League position by getting their team of cheap players to play brilliantly and outplay all the top six teams filled with big money purchases thanks to their oversuppoly of Manchester City gifts are left with a huge excess of overpaid but unwanted players who they can’t sell. Surely we all want the Premier League to become a truly competitive league where more than one from five or six teams are able to win it and where the football scores are a surprise each Saturday.

For the mid-table clubs, at Fulham I want Mohamed Al Fayed to properly support his new manager and give him a adequate time to establish himself and make things happen. I want Newcastle to stop being an underperforming big club and finally achieve their potential. It would be nice if West Brom could stay up for more one season rather than yo-yo’ing up and down.

I have hopes for refereeing as well, television technology to be used to be sure of goals for a start and for the more silly directives to be got rid off, in particular referees booking players for taking their shirts off.

The title does not suggest that you will win at soccer by heading the ball. Although the soccer header is a big part of the game, it’s definitely not the most important.

Soccer success and performance can be improved by understanding the mental elements of the game. Factors like concentration, confidence, motivation and belief are significant contributors to your overall performance.

The first step to becoming a better player is to prepare yourself mentality. Your performance is influenced by mental factors. Just like practice improves your skills, mental strength can also be developed and trained.

The easiest way to recognize a player with mental toughness is through his consistent performances and form. Players that are consistent and reliable week in, week out have a certain level of mental toughness. Your main objective in soccer is to play to your best ability, but to also perform consistently.

If you’re reading this and you coach the game, this article also concerns you. As a coach, you are given the duty to develop and improve their game. You must also be aware of these mental factors and encourage their natural progression.

Soccer drills and training should always be a distant second to mental training. The simplest praise or encouragement gives a young player confidence and belief. A young player oozing confidence is a motivated player and one that’s hungry for the game.

Make sure when coaching you instruct with a calm and friendly voice. Shouting, screaming or intimidating should never be used as a coaching aid for young kids. The main objective should be to preserve a young players confidence while teaching them the basics of the game.

A player that smiles and is confident will always outperform a player that’s stressed, unhappy or even scared. Remember consistent performances rely heavily on a player becoming mentally tough and have the ability to control these mental factors.

If you practice and develop your mental game you will inevitably become a better a player. If you’re coaching, you will significantly increase your status as a coach and your team’s win-loss ratio.

Soccer is the most popular sport in the world and the stakes are increasing with every year. Ever wondered why the big, successful clubs all employ sports psychologists? Could it be that mental toughness and awareness is just as important as fitness and skills. Behind every championship is a great motivating coach with the help of his psychologist.

All parents want their children to learn all the social skills required to belong in today’s society. They want their children to learn discipline, respect, sharing and the art of making new friends. Every parent also wants his or her children to grow up healthy and fit. So what’s the answer? The simplest solution to your problem is to become a soccer parent.

Soccer allows young children to develop social skills, have fun and stay fit all at the same time. What’s that? You don’t know anything about soccer!  Nevermind, listen up  .

Soccer is a game of two forty-five minute halves. Each team consists of eleven players that try and penetrate the opposing goals. Each team has a goalkeeper that protects the goals.  The goalkeeper has the authority to handle the ball with his hands  . The other ten players are designated positions depending on the coach’s  tactics .

A soccer team consists of a goalkeeper, defenders, midfielders and strikers. The defenders station themselves in front of their goal and as the name suggests, protect and defend their goal and goalkeeper. The midfielders are the link between the defenders and the strikers. They operate in the middle of the park and conduct the pace and tempo of the game. They offer support to the defenders while supplying the service to the strikers.

The forwards also known as the strikers are given the job of scoring goals. These players make up the offensive side of the field. The striker’s predominately take the most shots and score the most goals. Most soccer parents want their child to be a striker because this position gets the most attention and recognition.

A referee controls the game with the assistance of two linesmen. Each team can have up to three substitutions during the course of the match.

The basic requirements of soccer are a pair of shorts, a top and a pair of legs that bend at the knees. The cost with playing soccer is minimal and there is no expensive equipment that needs to be purchased.

The question shouldn’t be whether you can afford to play soccer, but rather can you afford not to play.

As Spain were crowned World Champions in Johannesburg, the curtain fell on the first World Cup Tournament to be staged in Africa. European sides obtained a 1-2-3 with Spain beating Netherlands in the final in addition to Germany getting 3rd place with a 3-2 victory over Uruguay.

This just reinforces the argument that European football is the most effective globally and that the European Championships are a superb tournament. Qualifiers for the Euro 2012 finals starts out in Sept and although finishing 3rd, Germany are likely to be amongst the favourites to lift the trophy. Their young squad provided some amazing football through the World Cup Tournament with Thomas Muller winning lifting the Golden Boot with 5 goals and 3 assists. With additional young stars like Ozil, Boateng and Kediera, Germany will be without doubt one of the ones to look out for.

As current World and European champions, Spain will undoubtedly be yet another really difficult adversary. Almost all of their players will still be young enough in 2012 to give tough opposition and they should be eager to defend their title. At last the Netherlands was able to leave their personal egos behind at the World Cup tournament and as a result, they got to their third World Cup final conquering a lot of peoples favourite, Brazil, on the way. With better finishing from Robben, Holland might possibly have won the match as opposed to Spain and they will hope to keep going in the same vein throughout Euro 2012.

The typically strong teams of France, England and Italy all failed miserably in South Africa and thus, the curtain will certainly come down on a good number of of the older footballers careers. England have quite a few exceptional young players to bring to the international stage and if they can copy Germany, there will be considerable hopes among the English fans.

The Euro 2012 host nations of Poland and Ukraine will both have great support but in due course, they most probably accomplish not have the quality to seriously challenge for the title.

Soccer is, arguably, the world’s most popular game. Every day, millions of people all around the world either play or watch a game of soccer. Some people do both! It’s that much fun. Football, as the game is also known, is probably so popular because it is so easy to play. All you need is a couple friends, a ball and an open field and you’re good to go.

The game of soccer derives from the game of rugby football. In the 1860s, the rules of soccer were first developed. The game was then called “association football”. However, the game soon came to be known as simply soccer. The word soccer being an abbreviation for the word association.

Modern soccer is played by people of all ages and all levels of ability. No matter the age of the players or the level of their ability, every game of soccer is governed by the laws of the game. These laws, or rules, are what set soccer apart and help make it such a popular game.

The main rule of soccer is that no player, other than the goalkeeper, can touch the ball with their hands or arms during the game. Because of this rule, players become extremely skilled at moving the ball with their feet legs, chests and heads. This makes for a very physically demanding, as well as visually exciting, game.

The average game involves two 11 man teams. Each team is led by a captain. During normal play, the offenses team attempts to score goals and the defense of team attempts to prevent goals. This involves quite a bit of ball movement, dribbling, passing, intercepting and kicking. All of this is overseen by a referee.

It is no wonder that soccer is such a popular game. All that movement and all that still makes for an exciting experience whether you’re on the pitch or you are in the stands.

A soccer coach is only as good as his soccer drills and training methods . Anyone can discipline a team and keep them from  playing up  . But how many  managers can successfully implement soccer drills into soccer training?

The misconception of soccer drills is that it’s a great way to keep young players from misbehaving. Soccer drills are a great way for the coach to relax and just watch the action. Don’t you agree? I hope you said no!

Soccer drills should be utilised to develop young players. Through continuous repetitions players of any age can master a certain aspect of the game whether it’s passing the ball or shooting at goal.

The type of soccer drills or the length of the exercise is not as important as the quality of the drill. Always make sure the drill is challenging the player’s skill level and their fitness level. Players should not go through the motions. They should complete every drill as if it was match day.

The two main goals  of a soccer drill should be to increase the skill level of a player while simultaneously increasing their fitness level.

The benefits of a well-orchestrated soccer drill are enormous. As mentioned above, players become fitter and develop their bag of tricks. Also players become stronger and develop specific muscle groups that are required for certain movements such as passing, tackling, shooting and so on.

If the soccer drill is properly conducted and set up, the coach should always encourage and praise his players. He should also instruct all players to encourage and motivate each other. This helps build team morale and team spirit. It also encourages each player to push even harder to try and receive further praise from his teammates, which inevitably creates a hunger for improvement.

Remember a team that encourages each other is very intimidating on match day. A team full of players that are friends and have team spirit are very difficult to beat.

Most coaches will agree that a champion team will always beat a team of champions.
