Fulham vs Hamburger SV 2-1 Result Score Goals 29/04/2010 Europa league semi-finals

Hamburger SV has not placed itself for the final of the UEFA Europa League, that will be played on May 12th in the Nordbank Arena in Hamburg. English side Fulham beat the Germans 2-1, after trailing 0-1 until the 70th minute of play. In the last twenty minutes Hamburg lost control of the match and saw Davies and Gera (76th minute) score, giving Fulham the edge after the 0-0 of last week in Hamburg.

The sacking of coach Bruno Labadia after a string of bad results thus did not lead Hamburg to the desired final at home, seen by HSV fans and directives alike as a season saving opportunity. But it was not to be. Interim-coach Ricardo Moniz made no changes in the Hamburg line-up, and saw the team fall short, like on so many occasions the last few months.

It is the second year in a row that Hamburg fails in the Europa League semi-final, last year they lost to neighbouring Werder Bremen. Fulham will play current Spanish number ten Atletico Madrid, that lost 2-1 to Liverpool after prolongation, just enough after the 1-0 victory last week in Madrid.
