Best Results from the Boxing day Fixtures:

“Cardiff beating Coventry by the Correct score of 2-0 & Leeds drawing at Leicester in a score draw as I said they would”

Hi everybody.

A good Boxing day fixture list gave me one correct scoreline in Cardiff beating Coventry 2-0 (my 8th of the season out of 9 weeks). I managed 4 out of 7 correct in terms of results, which is good as it keeps my average around the 50% mark.

The other correct results apart from Cardiff were QPR beating Swansea, Reading beating Bristol City & Leeds drawing at Leicester. Only a 93rd minute goal by Hull prevented me from another correct scoreline & result at the Sheffield United Hull City match. Oh well, such is football.

See you all for the New year fixtures

* Please note that Doncaster – Ipswich has already fallen foul to the weather

Championship Fixtures: Tuesday December 28th: 2010

Match 1: Coventry – QPR: (12.15pm)

QPR got back to winning ways after losing two games on the bounce (Their first two defeats of the season) by thrashing poor Swansea 4-0. So, rangers are still top by four points from Cardiff. They now travel to Coventry who after a 4 game unbeaten run (3 wins & 1 draw) have lost their last two. They lost at Cardiff 2-0 on Boxing day after they had lost 2-1 at home to Norwich the previous week.

Coventry have now dropped to 6th in the table but still in the playoff places. I think that as QPR have only lost once away at inform Leeds that they will come away from Coventry with the three points as Coventry have already lost at home to Preston, Norwich, Leeds & Cardiff this season.

Result Prediction: QPR to win
Score Prediction: Coventry 1 QPR 2

Match 2: Bristol City – Crystal Palace: (3pm)

Bristol City lost their second away game on the bounce when they lost 4-1 at Reading on Boxing day. This defeat at Reading followed up the 2-0 defeat at Hull the previous weekend. This is a shame for Bristol as they were on a good run prior to the two defeats.

They now face a Crystal Palace side who have spent most of the season in the bottom three. It is only their home form that is giving them a chance of staying up. Palace have lost their last 5 away games & last time out they lost 3-0 at Nottingham Forest. This is relegation form.

A home win then & bad times for Crystal Palace.

Result Prediction: Bristol City to win
Score Prediction: Bristol City 3 Crystal Palace 1

Match 3: Burnley – Scunthorpe: (3pm)

Burnley recovered from their home defeat to Leeds when they were two nil up at Half time yet managed to lose 3-2 by beating Barnsley away 2-1 for their first away win of the season. This must have been a relief for their manager Brian Laws who is coming under Direct pressure from me to sod off…Burnley are now 8th in the table just the two points behind the playoff places. I suspect that unless they get rid of their manager this is more or less will they finish come the end of the season.

Scunthorpe are looking doomed as they haven’t won since their 1-0 away win at Hull in early November. In fact they have lost every game since. Not good. They are now second from bottom with this bad run & I expect them to get relegated. Should be an easy home win for Burnley then.

Result Prediction: Burnley to win
Score Prediction: Burnley 3 Scunthorpe 1

Match 4: Hull – Reading: (3pm)

Both teams are coming into form & so this game should be interesting. Hull are now seven games unbeaten since losing at home to Scunthorpe in early November. A good run that has taken them upto midtable after a very bad start to the season. It seems that the Hull Scunthorpe game in early November has seen both sides go in the opposite direction. Hull won their latest game 3-2 away at Sheffield United on Boxing day where there was a bit of 80’s aggro making a come back.

Reading ended a sequence of drawn games by beating Derby away & then they thrashed in form Bristol City 4-1 on Boxing day despite going 1-0 down early in the game. Reading are now upto 7th in the table just one point behind Coventry in 6th place.

As both sides are in good form & have both not lost for seven games & think this game will be a draw but a good game to watch if you get the chance.

Result Prediction: A Score draw
Score Prediction: Hull 1 Reading 1

Match 5: Leeds – Portsmouth: (3pm)

Leeds are on a great run but threw away a 2-0 lead at Leicester on Boxing day to draw 2-2. Still it was a good point. Leeds are now right up Cardiff’s arse in third place just one point behind them. They are now 10 games unbeaten since they were thrashed 4-0 at home in October by Cardiff…

Portsmouth are in midtable but have won their last two away games at Swansea & Norwich. They could only draw 1-1 at home with Millwall on Boxing day but they did come from 1-0 down at half time. I really can’t see Portsmouth coming away from Leeds with a result but I suspect they will make it hard for Leeds.

Result Prediction: A Leeds win
Score Prediction: Leeds 2 Portsmouth 1

Match 6: Millwall – Leicester: (3pm)

Millwall got a good away win at Portsmouth on Boxing day to leave them in 13th place on 29 points. Millwall will be happy with their start to the season so far & will hope that they can improve upon their present placing come the end of the season. In their last home game they thrashed poor relegation bound Scunthorpe 3-0.

Leicester will be a tougher nut to crack than Scunthorpe as they have much improved since their former England manager took charge. Leicester proved that by coming from 2-0 down to draw with inform Leeds on Boxing day to gain a good point (as I Predicted). Leicester did lose their last away game at Watford 3-2 but I do feel that Watford are a better side than Millwall hence my prediction of a draw.

I think that both sides will cancel each other out & that the game will end up in a draw but it should be a good game.

Result Prediction: Draw
Score Prediction: Millwall 1 Leicester 1

Match 7: Norwich – Sheffield United: (3pm)

Sheffield United lost again, this time in the Yorkshire derby at home to Hull City 3-2 on Boxing day. United have now lost three of their last four games and as a consequence have dropped to 20th place in the table just four points above the drop zone. United need to start putting some wins together & soon or they are going to be in trouble.

Norwich meanwhile are on a great run & find themselves in 5th place in the table. Norwich have now only lost once in their last eight games & that was their last home game when they lost 2-0 at home to Portsmouth. They recovered from that defeat however to beat Coventry on the last Saturday before Christmas. Their Boxing day game was cancelled which will have frustrated them but I think they will take that frustration out on Sheffield United by winning well.

Result Prediction: Norwich to win
Score Prediction: Norwich 2 Sheffield United 0

Match 8: Preston – Middlesbrough: (3pm)

Preston won their last game 1-0 against Ipswich & that result coupled with the two previous draws they had managed leaves them still bottom but only two points behind Middlesbrough who are in 21st place. This game therefore is a big one.

Middlesbrough got back to losing ways after beating second placed Cardiff by losing at Doncaster 2-1 in their last game which was another bad result for them in what has been a very bad season for them. At least they don’t have any financial problems too worry about.

I think that Preston will win this game as they will be more up for this game than Middlesbrough who seem to be in freefall & to be honest I can see them ending up in the third tear of English football before coming back.

Result Prediction: Preston to win
Score Prediction: Preston 2 Middlesbrough 1

Match 9: Swansea – Barnsley: (3pm)

Swansea will be shell shocked at losing at QPR 4-0 on Boxing day as they were the better side in the first half despite going in 1-0 down at the break. They now need to re group & get their promotion charge back on charge which I think they will.

Swansea are still 4th in the table & one bad result does not make a season. The Problem for Swansea is that they haven’t won for three games & so therefore need a win from this game. Barnsley lost on Boxing day at home to Burnley which was a bad result as it was Burnley’s first away win of the season. Due to the weather this is Barnsley’s first away game since mid November when they won 3-1 at Ipswich.

Barnsley are a difficult side to predict but I think that because Swansea are a better side they will win.

Result Prediction: Swansea to win
Score Prediction: Swansea 2 Barnsley 0

Match 10: Watford – Cardiff: (3pm)

Cardiff got back to winning ways on Boxing day by beating Coventry 2-0 at home. It was their first win in five since they had won 4-2 at Scunthorpe in mid November. They are still second four points behind leaders QPR.

They now goto Watford whose game on Boxing day was cancelled because of the Winter weather. This means that Watford haven’t played since the 10th of December when they won 3-1 at QPR to inflict on Rangers their first defeat of the season. Watford must be frustrated that they have not played since that win. Watford are in fact 4 games unbeaten but because of their matches being called off have dropped to 11th in the table but only four points behind Coventry in the last playoff place.

I think that this will be a tough game for Cardiff & that they will do well to come away with a point especially as Watford won their last home game against an improved Leicester side 3-2.

Result Prediction: A score draw
Score Prediction: Watford 1 Cardiff 1

Championship Fixtures: Wednesday December 29th: 2010

Match 11: Nottingham Forest – Derby: (7.45pm)

This is the big game in the East Midlands. Both clubs have of course have one thing in common that will forever shape their History & that is of course Brian Clough who managed both sides in the 1970 & 80’s. To add spice to this fixture Brian Clough’s son Nigel is in charge of Derby as he has been for a couple of seasons. Nigel is slowly turning Derby around from the mess he inherited. Until their recent bad run they were looking good for a playoff place but there is still half the season to go yet.

Both sides are locked on 30 points in 9th & 10th place in the table which more or less means that both sides are evenly matched. Forest won their last game 3-0 against relegation threatened Crystal Palace but I suspect this game will be closer.

Derby haven’t won since they beat Scunthorpe at home in November, four games ago. They have lost all their games since. Not good but from what I can tell they have been playing well & have just been unlucky.

Despite the fact that I think that Derby will get back on form I think they will lose this game which will not go down well in Derby.

Result Prediction: A Forest win
Score Prediction: Forest 2 Derby 1

That’s all until Thursday when I do the New Years day Fixtures

Match 1: Manchester City – Aston Villa: (Tuesday December 28th: 3pm)

City had a great 3-1 win at Newcastle on Boxing day to cement their place in the top four. With both Arsenal & Chelsea not playing until 24 hours later they are now 2nd in the table. The 3-1 win at Newcastle was important after their defeat to Everton on Monday Night. If only City could improve their home form.

City now face Aston Villa who lost for the second time at home this season when they went down 2-1 to Spurs (Just as I predicted) & are now in a relegation fight. Villa’s away record as I have pointed out many times this season is very poor with just the one away win at Wolves & a draw at Fulham, both of those sides are of course in the bottom three. The list of Villa away defeats is as follows, Blackburn, Liverpool, Newcastle, Sunderland, Stoke & Spurs. A long list & I see no reason to Suppose that City will add to that List.

City are playing great away from home & in fact their away form is much better than their home form. On Monday last they lost for the second time this season at home when they went down 2-1 to Everton. On the credit side they have beaten Liverpool, Chelsea, Newcastle & Bolton at home but have lost to Arsenal & Everton as well as only drawing with Birmingham, Blackburn & Manchester United.

I think that City’s home form will improve starting with this game against Villa.

Match prediction: A City win
Score Prediction: Manchester City 3 Aston Villa 0
Attendance Prediction: 47,000

Match 2: Stoke – Fulham: (Tuesday December 28th: 3pm)

Fulham have now dropped into the bottom three after a very bad home defeat to West Ham when they lost 3-1. The victory was West Ham’s first away win since the opening day of last season when the hammers won 2-0 at Wolves. Fulham have now only won two games all season & neither of those wins has been away. Fulham’s away form started off well with a lot of draws but recently it has tailed off with a few defeats.

Their draws have been at Blackpool, Blackburn, Newcastle, Bolton & West Ham but the defeats which as already mentioned have come recently have come at West Brom, Chelsea & Arsenal. I really can’t see Fulham on their present run getting anything at Stoke despite the fact that Stoke lost their last home game to Blackpool 1-0 a couple of weeks ago.

Stoke’s home form isn’t too bad with wins against Liverpool, Aston Villa, Birmingham & Blackburn while they have drawn with Manchester City (A good home point considering city’s recent away form) & being unlucky with defeats by a single goal to Spurs, Manchester United & Blackpool. Stoke won their last game on Boxing day when they won 2-0 at Blackburn for their third away win of the season so they will be full of confidence as apposed to Fulham.

A home win then & will Mark Hughes survive January?

Match prediction: Stoke to win
Score Prediction: Stoke City 2 Fulham 1
Attendance Prediction: 27,000

Match 3: Sunderland – Blackpool: (Tuesday December 28th: 3pm)

Steve Bruce had seven first team regulars out for their Boxing day defeat at Manchester United. Hmm, read into that what you will but I bet you he doesn’t have that many players out for the away games at Manchester City & Arsenal.

The defeat leaves Sunderland in 7th place but just 4 points behind Chelsea. That says a lot about Chelsea’s decline methinks but that shouldn’t overshadow the fact that Sunderland are having a good season & are my bet to finish higher than Newcastle in the table come the end of the season.

Sunderland are unbeaten at home his season with wins against Manchester City, Bolton, Aston Villa, Stoke & West Ham. The draws have been against Arsenal, Manchester United, Everton & Birmingham. Despite Blackpool having a good away record this season (so far) with wins at Newcastle, Liverpool, Wigan & of course last time out 1-0 at Stoke. They have also managed draws at Bolton & West Ham. The defeats have been at Arsenal, Chelsea, Aston Villa & Birmingham.

Despite this good away record I think that Sunderland’s unbeaten home form will come good & result in a Home win for the Black cats. I suspect that most of those 7 absence’s will play in this game.

Match prediction: A Sunderland win
Score Prediction: Sunderland 2 Blackpool 0
Attendance Prediction: 39,000

Match 4: Tottenham – Newcastle: (Tuesday December 28th: 3pm)

Tottenham had a great win at Aston Villa on Boxing day to record their 4th away win of the season after wins at Stoke, Arsenal & Fulham. Spurs are still 5th but only one point behind Chelsea & two behind Arsenal who of course play Monday night against Chelsea. I suspect that a draw would suit Spurs in that game. Spurs have of course already qualified for the knock out stages of the Champions League which is a great achievement in their first appearance in the Competition since 1962.

Spurs home form is good with just the one defeat to Wigan & wins against Wolves, Liverpool, Blackburn, Aston Villa & draws against Sunderland, Chelsea (last home game) & Manchester City. If only they had turned a couple of those home draws into wins then they would be above both Chelsea & Arsenal in the table.

Newcastle’s away form has dipped recently with defeats at Bolton & West Brom to go along with earlier season defeats at Manchester United, Manchester City. On the plus side away they have won at Everton, Arsenal & West Ham as well as a draw at Wolves.

This should be with Spurs general form a home victory as Newcastle have lost their last two away & lost at home to Manchester City 3-1 on Boxing day.

Match prediction: Tottenham to win
Score Prediction: Tottenham 3 Newcastle 1
Attendance Prediction: 36,000

Match 5: West Brom – Blackburn: (Tuesday December 28th: 3pm)

Blackburn are slipping after two home games & no wins. They followed up the 1-1 draw with West Ham by losing 2-0 to Stoke on Boxing day. They are now 13th in the table some six points above the relegation places. Still in a good position but they really could do with a win to settle the ship.

Blackburn’s away form is pretty much what it always seems to be, ie, average at best. Blackburn have managed to win at Blackpool & Newcastle but have lost at Stoke, Liverpool, Manchester United, Spurs & Bolton which was their last away game. They have managed draws at Manchester City & Birmingham but it is their home form that is keeping them in midtable away from the danger zone. If their home form goes they will be in trouble.

West Brom have done well as I expected them to be heading back to the Championship but they are 12th place above Blackburn on goals difference. Albions home form has produced wins against Newcastle, Fulham, Birmingham & Sunderland. They have drawn against Spurs & Bolton. As Albion have only lost to Manchester City & Stoke I can’t really see Blackburn & their away form making it three defeats to West Brom at home.

Match prediction: West Brom to win
Score Prediction: West Brom 3 Blackburn 0
Attendance Prediction: 26,000

Match 6: West Ham – Everton: (Tuesday December 28th: 5.30pm)

West Ham had a great 3-1 at Fulham on Boxing day to record their first away win in the Premiership since a 2-0 win at Wolves on the opening day of last season. A long wait for hammers fans. That win means that West Ham are only two points away from Birmingham in 17th place who didn’t play on Boxing day.

West hams have only won twice at home this season against Spurs (A good win) & Wigan who are of course involved with them in the relegation fight. They have managed draws against Blackpool, Fulham & West Brom but have lost too many. The defeats have been to Chelsea, Manchester City, Bolton & Newcastle.

As Everton have a great away record & West Ham a bad home one Its seems obvious to me to predict an Everton win. Everton won at top four side Manchester City 2-1 last Monday to go along with their impressive win at Birmingham earlier in the season. They have also had good draws at Chelsea, Sunderland, Spurs, Fulham. In fact with only two away defeats at Blackburn & Aston Villa they have a better away record than their home record.

An away win then & despite West Ham making a great effort to stay up I think in the end they will fail.

Match prediction: an Everton win
Score Prediction: West Ham 1 Everton 2
Attendance Prediction: 36,000

Match 7: Birmingham – Manchester United: (Tuesday December 28th: 8pm)

United at last are playing an away game as they seem to have been playing at home for ever. Admittedly their game at Blackpoll the other week was called off but four home games on the bounce at this vital stage of the season does seem somewhat unfair on the other sides behind them. United now have to try & improve on their away record which is good as they are unbeaten but they have only won the one game at Stoke. The draws then have been at Aston Villa, Sunderland, Fulham, Everton, Bolton & Manchester City.

Birmingham may be in a lowly place in the table in 17th place but their home form has carried on from last season in that they are proving very difficult to beat at home. They have only lost once since September last year and that was against Everton this season. They have beaten Chelsea, Blackpool & Blackburn while they have managed draws with West ham (2-0 down at one point), Spurs, Liverpool & Wigan. If only they could convert a couple of draws into wins then they would obviously be higher in the table.

Last season these two teams drew this fixture 1-1 & I can see a similar result in this game.

Match prediction: A draw
Score Prediction: Birmingham 0 Manchester United 0
Attendance Prediction: 28,000

Match 8: Chelsea – Bolton: (Wednesday December 29th: 7.45pm)

Chelsea as everybody knows are on a bad run. They have only won one game in their last seven league games & that was a narrow 1-0 win against lowly Fulham. Of the other six games they have lost to Liverpool & Birmingham away & lost to Sunderland 3-0 at home. In their last game they drew 1-1 at Spurs which would have been seen as two points dropped as they missed a late penalty.

Chelsea’s last home game resulted in a 1-1 draw with Everton. Another disappointing result for them. I think that no matter what the result at Arsenal they will win this game as I really can’t see their bad run going on much longer. I don’t think however, that they are going to retain their title as I have the feeling that all is not well in the Chelsea camp after the removal of Ray Wilkins which I think is just about the most stupid thing that any Football Chairman has done in the Premiership for many a season.

Bolton are having a great season & are very well placed in 6th place in the table. They have however lost their last two away games rather unluckily at Manchester City & Sunderland both by the same scoreline of 1-0. They recovered from the defeat at Sunderland to beat West Brom 2-0 on Boxing day as I predicted but I’m afraid that it could be defeat number four on their travels in this game but they will run Chelsea very close.

Match prediction: A Chelsea win
Score Prediction: Chelsea 2 Bolton 1
Attendance Prediction: 41,000

Match 9: Wigan – Arsenal: (Wednesday December 29th: 7.45pm)

I am having to type this while not knowing the result of the home game with Chelsea for Arsenal. As I have predicted a narrow win over Chelsea I will have to presume that I have been correct in my prediction.

Last season Arsenal lost this fixture3-2 after being 2-0 up. I really can’t see Wigan doing that again especially as Arsenal’s away record is so good & if I am not mistaken the best in the Premiership so far this season. Arsenal did lose their last away game 1-0 at Manchester United but it was only their second away defeat of the season. They have managed to win at Everton, Aston Villa, Wolves, Manchester City & Blackburn. The draws have come at Liverpool & Sunderland which were good draws when you look at both teams home record.

Wigan have improved at home after losing three out of their first four games very early in the season when they lost to Blackpool (4-0), Chelsea (6-0) & Manchester City (2-0). Since then they have beaten Wolves & West Brom while drawing with Sunderland, Bolton, Stoke & Liverpool.

Arsenal dumped Wigan out of the League cup at the beginning at the month at the Quarter final stage, expect a similar result in this game.

Match Prediction: Arsenal to win
Score Prediction: Wigan 1 Arsenal 3
Attendance prediction: 18,000

Match 10: Liverpool – Wolves: (Wednesday December 29h: 8pm)

Can’t see Wolves staying up after now after their home defeat to Wigan on Boxing day. A very bad result for Wolves. They now goto Liverpool with a dreadful away record of just one point gained away all season. The list of defeats is long for Wolves away & is as follows:- Manchester United, Spurs, Blackburn, Wigan, Fulham, Chelsea & Blackpool. I can seriously see Wolves going the whole season without an away win to their credit just like Hull did last season when they were relegated.

Liverpool may be crap away with six away defeats but their home form is keeping their heads above water. They have only lost once at home to Blackpool & drawn twice with Sunderland & Arsenal while they have beaten Chelsea, West Brom, West Ham, Blackburn & Aston Villa. It is not the best home record in the division but it is still far to good for poor Wolves I suspect.

A home win then & I’m afraid that I can’t see Wolves staying up but Liverpool aren’t going to do much better with the best they can hope for is the UEFA Cup or FA Cup.

Match Prediction: Liverpool to win
Score Prediction: Liverpool 3 Wolves 1
Attendance Prediction: 43,000

association football players Mcteineime robust body shape high – but are they also more beautiful? soccer player correction imbed a particularly athletic positions such as doormen, they are also the most handsome player on the solicit

The other day when i came home from my  NYC Towing Service  my wife asked me “how come the most beautiful players are the most talented?” i told her it’s BS but today during my  roadside assistance that eventually turned out to be  Cheap Towing  i started intellection more or less it

Is a better soccer players are also more studs? Apparently this weigh has also just scientists, who distinct to go through the issue by soccer players and hockey game. The study was assumed evolutionary, athleticism is a good indication of good health and fertility, so the more athletic men get caught more beautiful.
Anyone can practice and become more athletic, but much of the athletic ability is hereditary, survival of the athletic Achshiatronut clear (they are very good hunters, can protect the immediate surroundings, etc.).

If it is not surprising considered one male athletes most attractive qualities a potential mate. The reward to a woman is clear and immediate, but future young also inherited the athletic qualities.

Who’s the most worth?

All soccer players need a supreme powers, but the positions that require the peak(a) present of athleticism are the caretaker’s and Halutz. Goalkeeper required for flexibility high, Lkvardenacit eye – fantabulous hand fast lasts. The damage caused goalkeeper fault wrong decision is measure vastly higher than all other player on the court.

Goalkeepers also risk a lot more injuries because of the leaps and because of the high stratum of friction with the opposing players. Pioneers, however, need to be quick thinking, creative and powerful long bursts. Goalkeepers Are the athleticism and pioneers will be expressed even in appearance? That is, whether they are more beautiful than other players on the field, players such as defense liaison?

This study was done in the Netherlands and included the first division soccer players. 20 images of soccer players face each of the four positions on the field were selected at random were graded according to their attractiveness by 73 female students from the University of Groningen, on a scale of 1-10.

Pictures of well-known players were not included in the study, reported that she examined and if even one player ID from the list, is not included in the final analytic thinking.

The results showed estimation and pioneers did not differ among themselves if the external attractiveness, but the defenders were considered more attractive connections.

A similar study was conducted on hockey players NHL conference is the world’s top professional league. Hockey, like soccer, there are four main positions on the court. This study also found similar results, although there were porters prepare attractive, followed by the pioneers at the end of the defense players.

These results show that the actors most athletes in soccer (and hockey) are considered more beautiful. Estimated pioneers required features are consistent with genetic traits Sshkeshuroat individual’s overall fitness.

Games get more violent all the time.

Kids learn by what they constanly see. Some gamers believe that violence adds realism to the game and is needed, and some enjoy it also, but wouldn’t kill their mom or shoot their dad in the head for taking away their Halo 3 game a la Daniel Petric.

Congressman Joe Baca of California would like to have wellness Warnings on video games stating “WARNING: Excessive exposure to violent video games and other violent media has been linked to aggressive behavior.” For real Joe? The proof is not there. And for every study you find saying there is a link between the two, you’ll another saying differently.

Alot of things, if not everything is imitated realness. You see it on tv and movies, hear it in music, read it in newspapers. If all you watched was the news, cable or local, you would think the damn world was coming to an end tomorrow. The first mentioned above outlets do have warnings or ratings, hell, the news should also. And in my own personal study, I came to the conclusion that I could pick a number of things in ones life and say that’s the link. I’m joking, but very serious.

Look, I know that video game related cases like the Columbine killings which had the Doom reference, Daniel Petric with Halo 3 and a couple of cases wherever Grand Theft Auto was the culprit are made larger than life. Each of these cases goes way deeper than video games. We don’t know exactly what was going through these individuals head’s when they did what they did. We don’t know the kind of household these people were raised in. Some people really don’t have it all mentally, and if that’s the case a movie, a song, the news or anything else that could have been encountered MAY be the trigger but not the link.

Just like looking at an accident along side of the road. It’s almost as though it’s a necessary evil, without those certain types of games you lose a big base of your consumers, lose that base lose more jobs.

Violence is and always will be around. Violence in video games is no more of a link to militant behavior than any other media outlet entertainment. Violence is intertwined with many things, the state of ones mental capacity and actions leading up to an tragic event is another article for another day. To say this or that is the link is apples and oranges. Video games, with or without violence continues to be a favorite home pastime, yearly revenues worldwide continue to show that. Life is irregular, people do crazy things, and the problem is deeper than violence in video games.

Match day 4

Best Champions League Prediction (s) of previous Matches: “Chelsea winning in Moscow & Spurs losing away to Inter Milan”

Hello everyone & welcome to another Champions League Prediction article. Last time out on Match day 3 I managed 4 out of 5 correct results. I successfully predicted Chelsea, Arsenal & Manchester United to win as well as Spurs to lose to Inter Milan.

This means that I have now that predicted 10 out of 15 fixtures correct in terms of results. No correct scores yet unlike the Premiership but I’m sure some will come along soon.

I will be doing the Premiership predictions for the weekend on Thursday. The weekend predictions just gone were 5 out of 9 (written before Blackpool – WBA) on correct results & another correct score for the Fulham – Wigan game which was my 10th in the Premiership this season. The average for correct scorelines is now one every week which is better than the same stage of last season. The average for correct results is down from an average of last season of 57% to 42%. Go figure.

Good luck & see you all at the weekend.

Match 1: Bursaspor – Manchester United: (Group C: Tuesday 2nd November: 7.45pm)

Manchester United have picked up after their run of draws. They won at the weekend against Spurs after beating Stoke away the previous weekend. I suppose I should pass comment on the referee decision that allowed United to score their second goal. The referee got it wrong & should have blown up for handball as should have the Linesman. This sort of decisions seems to happen at Old Trafford a lot. I can’t remember the last time that a decision like this went against united & why did the referee allow Rio Ferdinand to continue his conversation while he was speaking to his linesman. This ref has previous in favour for united. Oh well who cares. I don’t think that it changed the result though because I don’t think Spurs would have scored to draw or heavens forbid twice to win.

United won their last Champions League game 1-0 at home which means they have one foot in the door for qualifying from the group into the knockout stages. United it must be said are unbeaten in the all competitions this season & this is why I really can’t see them losing this game especially as they won their last European away game 1-0 in Valencia. Bursaspor are weaker than Valencia so it points to an away win.

Bursaspor drew 1-1 at the weekend with Fernbahce to leave them still top of the league by four points after 10 games. They are also unbeaten in the league this season with a record of won 7 & drawn 3. They look like retaining their title.

However in Europe this season it has been a different story as they have lost all their games including a 4-0 home defeat to Valencia in their only home game so far. This game therefore should be an easy away win for United with or without Rio Ferdinand & Wayne Rooney.

Result Prediction: Manchester United to win
Score Prediction: Bursaspor 0 Manchester united 2

Match 2: Tottenham – Inter Milan: (Group A: Tuesday 2nd November: 7.45pm)

Spurs will feel aggrieved & rightly so at Manchester United’s second goal on Saturday but the fact is that they were 1-0 down already & the clock running down. I don’t think they would have won or drawn if the second goal had been not allowed.

They now face the return against Inter who they lost (as I predicted) away two weeks ago. Spurs were 4-0 down at half time in this game but once Inter took their foot of the peddle they were able to get back into it by scoring three goals, two of them very late in the game. This scoreline should not take anything away from Spurs though who never gave up & deserve credit for that.

Inter won away at Genoa at the weekend to go second in the table behind Lazio who also won. Inter are 4 points behind Lazio but I still think that Inter will retain their title. In Europe they are unbeaten in their 3 games with two wins & a draw in Holland against FC Twente. Inter should qualify from this group & it is between Spurs & FC Twente as to who qualifies with them. Because of this it is vital that spurs avoid defeat in this game which I think they will but I don’t think they will have enough to win as Inter I think are a better side

Should be a really good atmosphere at White hart lane & if you can get a ticket than grab it with both hands regardless of price.

Result Prediction: A score draw
Score Prediction: Tottenham 1 Inter Milan 1

Match 3: Valencia – Glasgow Rangers: (Group C: Tuesday 2nd November: 7.45pm)

Rangers drew at home with Valencia in their last European game & will feel frustrated that they didn’t take the three points. They now face Valencia in the return. Rangers are now second in the group & undefeated so far with two draws & the 1 win. They need to avoid defeat in this game as Valencia are behind them by only the one point.

On Saturday Rangers lost their 100% league record when they could only draw with Inverness. They are however still top by one point ahead of Celtic due in no small part to their 3-1 at Parkhead the weekend before. Valencia after a great start in the Spanish league have dropped off the pace. They could only draw 1-1 with Real Zaragoza at the weekend. This result leaves them in 4th place 6 points behind leaders Real Madrid.

Valencia lost their last Champions league home game at home 1-0 to Manchester United, their only defeat so far. Can’t see Rangers winning this game as they don’t score enough goals in Europe despite having a very good defence.

A boring game & a close one but Valencia to just shade a win.

Result Prediction: Valencia to win
Score Prediction: Valencia 1 Rangers 0

Match 4: Chelsea – Spartak Moscow: (Group F: Wednesday 2nd November: 7.45pm)

Chelsea are still top of the Premiership by 5 points after coming from behind to beat Blackburn away 2-1 on Saturday. They are also unbeaten in their Champions League Group having won all three games, the latest being a 2-0 win in Moscow against Spartak who they now play in the return.

Chelsea should win this game & win it easily & to be honest it is just a matter of getting the correct score right. Chelsea as I have said before are one of my teams that I think can win the Champions League which of course this year is being held at Wembley.

Spartak won at the weekend when they beat FC Rostov 2-1. This result leaves them 4th in the table, 10 points behind the leaders Rubin Kazan. They would be even lower in the table if it wasn’t for their recent really good form.

Can’t see the Russians winning this game or drawing as their seems to be a really big gap between the Russian league & the Premiership. This is a shame as I remember when most countries leagues were on an equal level which made games more exciting. It must have been harder to predict games I suspect in the 1980’s so I suppose I can’t have it both ways.

Result Prediction: Chelsea to win
Score Prediction: Chelsea 3 Spartak Moscow 0

Match 5: Shakhtar Donetsk – Arsenal: (Group H: Wednesday 2nd November: 7.45pm)

Arsenal won 1-0 against West Ham on Saturday with a very late goal to remain 2nd in the table but behind Chelsea by 5 points still. They are also still in the League cup & into the quarter finals after beating Newcastle reserves away 4-0 last Wednesday. They have drawn Wigan at home in the quarters so they should qualify for the semis in that competition. They have also won all their Champions league games & now face Shakhtar Donetsk whom they beat 5-1 at home two weeks ago. This could be a tougher game than the home game methinks but Arsenal should still have enough to win.

Arsenal should qualify from this group but I don’t think they will have enough to win Europe’s premier trophy. That is a shame but such is life, err, I mean football

Shakhtar Donetsk are top of their domestic league by five points after winning 1-0 away at the weekend. Their domestic league is however a different kettle of fish compared to the Champions League & hence why I think that Arsenal will win this game but not without conceding a goal as their defence it not their strongest arm.

Result Prediction: Arsenal to win
Score Prediction: Shakhtar Donetsk 1 Arsenal 3

That’s all from the champions league for a couple of weeks. See you all for the Premiership On Thursday.

Cheers

Douglas Martin
